Mike Seekings is a successful attorney and businessman who has spent the last twenty years living and working in the city of Charleston.

Mike began his legal career as a Clerk to the Honorable Donald S. Russell, former Governor of the State of South Carolina. After practicing law in Washington DC with the firm of Latham and Watkins, Mike embarked on his career in Charleston where he has been on the leading edge of design, construction, and development issues that affect the citizens of the city, county and state. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Charleston School of Law.

Mike is 49 years old and a graduate of The Choate School and Amherst College. Mike is a private pilot and one of Charleston's most avid runners.

Mike is married to Michele H. Seekings, a pharmaceutical sales representative with Sepracor. Michele is a Board member of the local chapter of the American Lung Association and a committee member of the local chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Michele shares the family passion for the outdoors.

Mike's mother, Jane, also lives within the friendly confines of District 8 in the West Ashley community of Byrnes Downs.
